NAIA-Best 25 AQ Programs Receive Scholar Team Awards

Teams were recognized for a cumulative 3.00+ GPA among varsity eligible athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) celebrated its NAIA National Awards Day on Thursday (Sept. 15), honoring a large number of teams and student-athletes for their performances in the classroom throughout the 2021-22 academic school year. 
 
Altogether, Aquinas had 25 NAIA varsity teams recognized for posting a cumulative 3.00 grade point average in 2021-22, among all varsity eligible athletes for the past year. Aquinas, Morningside (Iowa), and St. Ambrose (Iowa) are all tied nationally for the most scholar-teams with 25. The Saints add two more NAIA scholar teams from the 23 teams honored last year.

Overall, the athletics department averaged a 3.285 GPA last year.
