Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center

Home of the Aquinas College men's & women's basketball, cheer, dance and men's & women's volleyball, the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center finished construction in November 2010. 
 
Having a capacity of 2,000 people, the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center holds “Coach Bo Court” in honor of former athletic director and coach Terry Bocian. After Bocian retired from Aquinas with 43 years of service (38 as the athletic director), he was inducted into the Aquinas Hall of Fame in 2017. After being instrumental in the fundraising and planning of the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center, the Alksnis Athletics & Recreation Building, and the lighted, artificial turf Aquinas College Athletic Field, the basketball court was named in his honor.
 
The Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center has approximately 57,000 square feet and is available to rent for events. To request an Aquinas College Athletic Facility for your group, contact Liz Lee at eml005@aquinas.edu. On the occasion that there is an event in the facility, the fitness center and other areas may be closed. We do not offer community memberships. Check back for postings and call (616) 632-2470.
