Aquinas' women's basketball team held its annual senior day game on Saturday (Feb. 15) in the Sturrus Center and it did not disappoint. The Saints dominated their crosstown rivals Cornerstone by a 73-37 margin. Seniors
Camaryia Williams and
Keeley Hinton were honored prior to the game for their contributions to the AQ program.

The Saints improve to 15-12 overall and 11-7 in the WHACÂ with the win, while Cornerstone falls to 3-26 on the year and 1-18 in WHAC play.

Williams grabbed 21 rebounds (16 defensive, five offensive) to lead AQ. She ended the game just four rebounds shy of setting the AQ single-game record and is now also only three rebounds away from setting the single-season Aquinas record. Williams pulled down 16 of her rebounds in the second half. She added eight points, made all four of her free throws, dished out a team-leading six assists and had a team-high four steals.

Hinton led the game in scoring with 12 points, making four three-pointers on 12 attempts from behind the arc. She also had three rebounds (two defensive, one offensive) and two assists during her senior day effort.

The Saints made a season-high ten three-point shots on 24 attempts as a team (41.7 %). Overall, AQ finished 26-of-71 from the field (36.6%) and was 11-of-17 from the free throw line (64.7%). AQ held Cornerstone to a 25% shooting percentage on 14-of-56 shots and the Golden Eagles only connected on 20% from three-point range on 3-of-15 attempts.

Daz'Sha Day also scored in double figures with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting in addition to four rebounds (two offensive, two defensive).
Jaylynn Williams added eight points on 3-of-8 shooting off the bench with two defensive rebounds.
JaKarri Alven scored seven points on 3-of-7 shooting from the field while
Jordyn Wigg was 3-of-7 from the field for a total of seven points.

Marissa Brady led the team in blocks with three in addition to three rebounds, two steals and five points. Brady also hit the final three-pointer of the game to eclipse the team's previous season high.
Kailee Ford scored six points on 2-of-3 shots and
Ally Frederickson had five on 2-of-5 shooting.

AQ scored 20 of the first 23 points and did not trail at any point in the game. Aquinas led 22-7 after the first quarter, 28-17 at the end of the first half, and 49-21 after three quarters of play.

The Saints led in every major category including total rebounds (51-41), offensive rebounds (17-9), defensive rebounds (34-32), assists (19-11), steals (9-2), blocks (4-1), points in the paint (28-14), points off turnovers (16-4), second-chance points (22-5), fast-break points (5-0) and bench points (30-9).

Aquinas looks to make it two in a row and push for a home WHACÂ Tournament game on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 5:30 PM when the team hosts UNOH.
