We recently started a new series called "Getting AQuainted With…" as a way for our fans to get to know our Aquinas head coaches on a few professional topics and through some more light-hearted questions.
Name: Doug Seites
Hometown: Kent City, Michigan
Alma Mater / Year / Major: Aquinas College/ 2010/ History
What is your favorite thing about being a head coach at Aquinas? Getting to come to work everyday on a beautiful campus and to be able to interact with the Aquinas Community. And to work every day with the student-athletes and see them grow, mature and develop over their four years at AQ.
What is your top memory from your time at AQ? Playing in the first-ever lacrosse game for Aquinas College, and coaching in the National Championship Game in 2019. I have plenty more between my time as a student and 10 years coaching, but I think those two bookend a really fun and incredible journey I have been able to have at AQ!
Your favorite:
Musical artist/band? Too many to name: Modest Mouse, Prince, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Talking Heads, MF Doom
Movie? Wet Hot American Summer
Book? Cats Cradle- Kurt Vonnegut
Meal? Tacos, with Tacos and a side of Tacos.
Restaurant? Eastown Cafe', just a couple of minutes off campus. Check it out and support a great local business in AQ's community
Sports team (non AQ)? Chicago Cubs/Pittsburgh Steelers
What have you been watching during quarantine? The Last Dance, a lot of film, and probably too much Netflix.
What is something about you that would surprise most people? I have never had a cup of coffee in my entire life.
What is your hidden talent? I have some pretty decent juggling skills.
What would you be if you weren't a coach? Digging up dinosaur bones in some remote locale.
What is/would be your go-to karaoke song? I Believe In a Thing Called Love- The Darkness, and Say My Name-Destiny's Child
What was your first job? Operating games at Michigan's Adventure
Who is the most famous person you've met? Lewis Robinson
If resources and time weren't factors, what would you like to cross off your bucket list? Roadtrip around the country to watch a game at every MLB Stadium
