The Aquinas Men's and Women's Swim teams hosted their first meet in program history this Saturday (October 2) at the East Grand Rapids High School Pool. The Saints saw one swimmer win an event and multiple PRs.

Men
Â
Finishing in first in the double dual meet, was the Davenport Panthers. Davenport bested the Saints 162-33 and the Bethel Pilots 145-68. In second was the Bethel Pilots with a score of 145-53 vs the Saints and the previously mentioned 145-68 against Davenport.

Luke Vandy was the lone Saint to win an event this weekend on the men's side. Vandy was one second away from the NAIA Qualifying Standard with a time of 53.82 in 100 Yard Butterfly. He also placed third overall in the 100 Yard Backstroke.

Braden Augustine also had a standout race this weekend. Coach Kinzer was ecstatic to see Augustine's consistency when he placed fourth in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 51.15.

Women
Â
Finishing in first on the women's side in the double dual meet, was the Davenport Panthers again. Davenport topped the Saints 183-33 and the Bethel Pilots 133-89. Placing second was the Bethel Pilots with a score of 161-37 vs the Saints and the previously mentioned 89-133 against Davenport.

Individually
Mary Grace Doyle stood out for the Saints in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Doyle placed second in the event with at time of 1:02:51. This time lands her only a second away from a NAIA national qualifying mark.
The Saints are back in action Saturday, October 16 when they travel to OIivet, Michigan for a dual meet against Olivet College. The first race goes off at 1:00 PM.Â
