The Aquinas women's tennis team was knocked out of the WHAC Tournament on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 27) in Fort Wayne, Ind., as the Saints dropped a 4-0 decision to top-ranked Indiana Tech. AQ was the fourth seed in the tournament, but was unable to upset the #22 Warriors, who advance to the WHAC Championship this weekend.

Aquinas' season ends with a 4-6 record, while Indiana Tech moves on with a 16-2 record. Two of the Saints' six losses this season came against the top-25 Warriors.

Indiana Tech won the doubles point by taking two of the three doubles matches.
Darci TerHaar and
Kiara Berry fell at #2 doubles by a 6-1 score to Marianna Murcia and Vero Jiminez.
Vanessa Heylmun and
Sara Forletta dropped a 6-2 decision at #3 doubles to Abigail Simms and Ana Gomez. The #1 doubles competition went unfinished, with the Warriors clinching two of the three matchups.

Murcia defeated TerHaar in #3 singles, 6-2 and 6-1, while
Grace Kelly fell by a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Martina Borges in #4 singles. Thaina Carvalho topped Heylmun 6-2 and 6-1 at #6 singles. Those victories gave Indiana Tech the required four points to clinch the match victory, leaving the #1 and #2 singles competitions unfinished.
