Men's Swimming Sets Multiple Records in First Meet of 2022

The Aquinas men's swimming team competed in their first meet of the new year at the Upton Center Pool. The Saints saw three new school records go up this past weekend in the the 50 and 100 back as well as the 200 medley relay

Finishing in first in the double dual meet, was the Bethel Pilots besting the Saints 179.50-73.50 and Olivet College 145-120. Olivet College also bested the Saints 160-77. Although being bested by the two schools, Aquinas saw improvements since the last time they competed against the two schools.

Luke Vandy won two individual events this weekend on the men's side, in the 50 Yard Back and 100 Back. He finished with times of 26.07 and 55.54. With these times he breaks his previous school records in the event. Vandy wasn't done yet as he teamed with Braden Augustine, Cesar Robles, and Chris Kemler for the 200 Yard Medley Relay. They finished second with a time of 1:35.05.

Robles transferred to Aquinas at the semester, and along with the 200 Yard Relay, he competed in the 50 yard breast and finished with a third place finish.

The Saints will be back in action January 22, when they compete in a meet against Albion College with competition set for 1:00pm.
