The men's swimming team was in action for the last time this season when they traveled to Davenport, Iowa for the Saint Ambrose – Last Chance Meet. Over the weekend the men's and women's teams combined to set 27 Personal Bests and 16 school records.
Luke Vandy was the Saint to watch this weekend as he finished with five personal bests and five school records. These events were the 200 free (1:46), 500 free (5:06), 200 back (2:00), 100 fly (53.05), and 100 freestyle (48.72). Vandy had provisional standards in the 100 fly, 200 free, and 200 back.
Braden Augustine had a personal best in the 100 free at 48.92. This time gave him a school record until it was later broken by Vandy.
In the 100 Yard Breaststroke,
Cesar Robles finished second with a time of 59.49. This time earned him a new personal best, school record, and provisional standard in the event.
In the 1650 yard freestyle on Friday,
Christopher Uzunoe-Chin and
Justin Davis were the only two to compete in the event and finished with times of 20:44 and 21:52
This meet marks the end of season for the Saints barring an invitation to the national competition. Coach Kinzer and the rest of the Saints look forward to next season where their squad will double in size.
