#19 Saints Men's Rugby Falls to #18 Iowa Central CC

First half sets the Tritons over Aquinas, 43-22

Fort Dodge, Iowa — The No. 19-ranked Aquinas men's rugby team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa, to take on No. 18 Iowa Central CC on Saturday (Sept. 30). The first half would see the Tritons pull away from AQ while shutting them out. The Saints would come back in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough to march a comeback. Aquinas took the loss in Fort Dodge, 43-22.

The boys in maroon had a slow first half and couldn't find their way in for a try. The Saints headed to the locker room at halftime trailing 17-0.

Iowa Central CC came out swinging in the beginning of the second, but Aquinas would take the punches. Iowa found their way in for another try after having the bulk of the possession. AQ would add some coals to the fire by tries from Jacob Easterling, Gavin Thompson, and Michael Morales would stamp his ticket with two.

Aquinas were picking up steam, but the maroon locomotive would lose it's bearings as AQ suffered a few injuries and a yellow card, stifling the comeback.

The final score favored Iowa Central CC, 43-22.

The boys are back in action at 1 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Houseman Field for their last home contest of the fall regular season against currently ranked No. 17 Principia.
