Lima, Ohio – The Aquinas women's basketball team continued its win streak tonight (Feb. 14) with a Valentine's Day win over UNOH. AQ won 87-66 for its third consecutive win by double figures. The result puts the Saints at 11-14 on the year with an 8-11 conference record. The win has Aquinas in seventh place in the WHAC with three games left to play in the regular season.

Ciara Hardy connected on her first two shot attempts to get the scoring started for AQ. The two sides continued to go back and forth with the score tied at 15 at the end of the first quarter.
Aquinas began to break away at the start of the second quarter. Hardy and
Claire Gregwer scored the first eight points of the quarter for the Saints. However, the Racers managed to stave off the building Aquinas momentum and kept the game within five points.
The contest remained low-scoring in the first half with AQ taking a 33-30 lead into halftime. Gregwer accounted for nine of Aquinas' 18 points in the second quarter.
Hardy and Gregwer remained hot in the second half as the tandem, along with a pair of
Paige Guernsey free throws, gave the Saints an 8-0 run to start the third quarter.
Alona Blackwell joined the scoring party with 12 points in the third quarter, helping AQ take as much as a 22-point lead.
Blackwell scored another nine points in the first five minutes of the final quarter to help AQ maintain a dominant lead. After scoring 54 points in the second half, AQ earned a dominant win over the racers. The 87-66 victory completed Aquinas' season sweep over the Ohio-based side.

Aquinas statistically dominated the game today, leading in field goal percentage (48.6%-34.2%), three-point shooting (40%-33.3%), rebounds (59-32), and assists (23-16).
The Saints outscored UNOH 42-10 in the paint and 18-0 on second-chance points.
Gregwer had a career game, scoring a career-high 24 points on 9-19 shooting while grabbing 14 rebounds, three assists, and a block for a dominant performance.
Hardy returned to her scoring ways, recording over 20 points for the first time since November. She ended the game with 21 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
Blackwell also ended the game with 21 points, including three threes. She had eight boards and two assists with history now on the horizon. Blackwell is just ten points away from the all-time single-season scoring record.
