Dance Secures First and Second in Busy Comp Weekend

AQ earns two scores over 80 to finish the regular season

Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College dance team traveled to Saint Francis on Saturday (Feb. 25) to take part in a tri-comp. The Saints took home second place with a final score of 84.05. The ladies were back in action the next day as AQ held a virtual competition on Sunday (Feb. 25). Aquinas went head to head with the Tigers of Campbellsville. Hosts AQ went first and secured a finish of 85.10, defeating the Tigers with a score of 70.45.

The Saints continue their +80 points streak as they have gone beyond that threshold in every single comp this season.

Aquinas splits their regular season with two first and two second-place finishes.

Here is what head coach Ashley Kaman had to say about the competition-filled weekend, "After a late night trip the night before competing at St. Francis, their bodies were tired but they pulled out a great performance and really shined in front of their home crowd. They have consistently improved their execution of choreography throughout the season, and it's fun to see their confidence rise with this routine. We are looking forward to the WHAC championship and hope to continue the growth into postseason".
