Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Saints gauntlet of tough WHAC opponents continued tonight (Mar. 1) against (RV) Lourdes. The Gray Wolves extended their winning streak to four games in a row tonight with an impressive 3-0 win over Aquinas.

Lourdes improved to 5-1 in conference play with a 5-7 overall record. AQ's record is now 2-10 this year with a mark of 0-5 in conference play.

Lourdes 3, Aquinas 0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-15)

The two teams split the first six points after kills from Chase Gil and Zachary Nosky, but the first set was all Gray Wolves after that. A 12-3 run had the Ohio side way out in front, and they never looked back, hitting .565 in the first set.

Aquinas went on an impressive run to start the second set, taking a 4-0 lead that included three Leo-Paul Rousseau aces. However, Lourdes never lost its stride, responding with a 4-0 run of its own to quickly erase the deficit. A nine-point run to end the set had the Saints trailing in the match 2-0.

Lourdes put the match away in the third set as the visitors continued to find the gaps in Aquinas' block. At the conclusion of the match, the Gray Wolves tallied a .543 hitting percentage to remain hot in conference play. Eduardo Ayala led the team with 15 kills and a .789 hitting percentage.

By the Numbers

Gil led the team with seven kills tonight and a .294 hitting percentage. Connor Staats recorded five kills and a pair of digs in his return to the starting lineup.
