Orlando, Fla. — The Aquinas men's and women's tennis programs have finished up their spring break play this past weekend.
Men:
The men finished their play with matches against the Lions of Warner, and the Tarzans of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
Warner showed prowess and held the Saints down with an impressive sweep finish of 9-0. AQ managed to pull points but not enough to clear a victory.
The men flipped the script when it came to the Tarzans, taking the win 8-1.
Jackson VanBergen and
Brandon McEachern came up big with their 6-2 win.
AQ had a prominent showing in singles as they won every contest as
Tom Gangov (6-3, 6-1),
Mariano Arroyo (6-2, 6-2), VanBergen (6-2, 6-1), and McEachern (6-2, 6-0).
The men earn their first contest wins in Florida, bumping them to 2-7 overall.
Women:
The ladies completed their spring break play against the Tarzans. AQ couldn't top PRM and faltered to a 7-2 difference.
Megan Hearn and
Alyssa Jack pulled out a win for the Saints in doubles.
Jack was also the only Saint that secured a win in singles.
This loss pushes the ladies to a 1-7 program overall.
