Sterling Heights, Mich. — Competing at the prestigious Midwest Collegiate Classic at 5 Star Lanes, the Aquinas women's bowling team continues its mission to elevate the program into the elite ranks of the WHAC and the NAIA. Led by a determined group of veterans and emerging underclassmen, the Saints showcased their growing consistency, team chemistry, and competitive edge against some of the region's toughest programs. Every frame reflected a program on the rise — one intent on proving that Aquinas belongs among the best in collegiate bowling.

AQ Women's Varsity
The Saints' varsity squad turned in one of its strongest performances of the season, standing tall against a loaded field at the 54th Annual Brunswick Midwest Collegiate Classic. Freshman Tayler Mohney was outstanding from start to finish, rolling games of 201, 234, 211, 201, and 184 for a 1031 total pinfall and a 206.2 average across five games — a performance that earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team at her first-ever Tier I event. She was joined near the top of the standings by Chloe Fisk, who turned in a stellar effort to finish 14th overall in a field stacked with national-caliber bowlers. The varsity lineup of Brooke Binder, Carly Pavka, Kayla VanLinden, Laighnee Roll-Pike, Skylar Davy, and Sophia Santo each provided critical depth and steady scoring, keeping Aquinas among the top-performing teams throughout qualifying. The Saints' consistency and competitive poise earned them a berth in match play, where they battled hard before falling to Lawrence Tech in the opening round. Even in defeat, the showing reinforced that Aquinas is rapidly emerging as one of the most competitive programs in the region. The event concluded with SCAD Savannah capturing the overall team title and Tayler Mohney (Aquinas) taking home the women's individual championship.

Coach's Quote
After the very successful weekend, Head Coach Harold Klukowski reflected proudly on the program's progress:
"This weekend really showed how far our program has come. We had an All-Tournament Team performer in a Tier I event — and she's a freshman, Tayler Mohney. That's huge for Aquinas bowling. Our women made match play and battled hard before getting bounced by LTU, but that experience proves just how good we're going to be. The confidence, energy, and growth we saw this weekend tell me this team is on the verge of something special."

Up Next
The Saints will have a little time to prepare for their next competition as they focus on practice through the rest of October. They'll return to action on Saturday, November 1, traveling to Lansing for the WHAC Great Lakes Open, looking to carry their momentum into conference play.
