Grand Rapids, Michigan – The Aquinas women's track and field team traveled to Grand Valley State University for the annual Mike Lints Alumni Open, using the meet as a final tune-up before next weekend's WHAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Saints delivered an impressive performance, achieving multiple personal bests, two provisional national qualifying marks, and one new addition to the program's all-time top-five list.
Strong Performances on the Track
Sprinter Isabel Spearing had a standout day, setting career-best marks in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. She placed sixth in the 60 meters (8.02) and finished 10th out of 47 competitors in the 200 meters (26.64).
The 800 meters proved to be another strong event for Aquinas, with Lauren Wooer placing fourth in 2:17.10, a time that provisionally qualifies her for the NAIA National Championships. Ella Koons followed closely behind, finishing sixth in 2:18.13.
Hurdler Sophia Schrauben also delivered her best performance in a Saints uniform, placing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.29 in prelims, 9.37 in finals) before clocking 1:00.77 in the 400 meters.
Field Event Standouts
Maelie Hope headlined the field events, winning the shot put with a personal-best throw of 45-5, moving her up to #2 on the Saints' all-time list and improving her provisional national qualifying mark. She also placed eighth in the invite section of the weight throw with a toss of 54-7 ¼.
In the triple jump, Presley Avery recorded a personal-best mark of 32-7 ½, earning a second-place finish.

The Saints will shift their focus to the WHAC Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend in Fort Wayne. Competition is set to begin on Friday at 4 p.m.
