Junior (2018)
• Ran a 24:27 (4.75 Miles) to finish in 4th place at the GRCC Raider Invitational (Sept. 22) • Opened at the 8,000-meter Calvin Knight Invitational (Sept. 8), crossing in 58th at 26:34.
Sophomore (2017)
• Placed 37th at the NAIA National Championships (Nov. 18) with a time of 25:32 at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington • Ran to a 4th-place finish in 25:25 to help the Saints place 3rd place at the WHAC Championships at Riverside Park. Arik was named First Team All-WHAC for his performance • Finished 5th with a time of 25:36 in the 8,000-meter event at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge (Oct. 21) at Riverside Park • Placed 3rd out of 178 at the Bethel College Invitational (Oct. 6), crossing the finish line in 25:42 • Placed 22nd out of 185 in a time of 25:54 at the Greater Louisville Classic • Opened at the 8,000-meter Calvin Knight Invitational (Sept. 9), crossing in 20th at 25:52
Freshman (2016)
• Placed 84th at the NAIA National Championships (Nov. 19) with a time of 25:54 at North Farms XC Course in Elsah, Illinois. • Ran to a 16th-place finish in 26:47 to help the Saints place 4th at the WHAC Championships at Riverside Park. • Finished 52nd with a time of 26:26 in the 8,000-meter event at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge (Oct. 22) at Riverside Park.• Placed 19th out of 151 at the Bethel College Invitational (Oct. 7), crossing the finish line in 26:04. • Placed 43rd in a time of 27:13 at the National Catholic Championships. • Made his Aquinas debut at the 8,000-meter UW-Parkside Midwest Open (Sept. 10), crossing 22nd in 26:37
High School: Prepped at Hesperia High School under the head coach Doug Baird, Arik LaFave was team captain Junior and Senior seasons, earning all conference honors for both Cross Country and Track and Field from Sophomore, Junior, and Senior seasons. First team all conference Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Conference Champ Senior year in Cross Country. Conference Champ in Track and Field (3) 800 meter, (2) 4x800 meter relay, (1) 1600 meter, and (2) 4x400 meter relay. Arik received Freshman of the year, WZZM 13 Scholar-Athlete of the Week, Coach's Award, and Most Valuable Runner Junior and Senior years. Arik was a five time academic all state runner and a four time all state athlete, with a 3rd place finish in the 1600 meter Track State Finals and 5th place finish at Cross Country State Finals during his Senior Season. During Arik's time at Hesperia High School he broke 6 school records. Arik was a member of the National Honor Society, Principals Advisory Committee, and yearbook.
Personal: Son of Brad and Janet LaFave. Majoring in Business Administration. Enjoys the outdoors, biking, fishing, camping, longboarding, basketball, spending time with family and friends, and going to church.
