Biography

Sophomore (2018)

 • Ran a 27:09 (4.75 Miles) to finish in 87th place at the GRCC Raider Invitational (Sept. 22) • Opened at the 8,000-meter Calvin Knight Invitational (Sept. 8), crossing in 205th at 28:57.

Freshman (2017)

• Ran to a 86th-place finish in 29:00 to help the Saints place 3rd place at the WHAC Championships at Riverside Park  • Finished 105th with a time of 27:58 in the 8,000-meter event at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge (Oct. 21) at Riverside Park • Placed 48th out of 214 at the MCC Jayhawk Invitational (Oct. 13), crossing the finish line in 27:23 •  Placed 61st out of 178 at the Bethel College Invitational (Oct. 6), crossing the finish line in 27:56 • Made his Aquinas debut at the 8,000-meter Calvin Knight Invitational (Sept. 9), crossing in 153rd at 28:38

High School: Began at Cadillac High School under head coaches Todd Baker for track and Field and Head Coach Timothy O'Mally for Cross Country. Earned Team state Qualifier freshman year, Individual state qualifier senior year, all conference for Big North Conference, and All-Area Dream Team Captain his only year running Cross Country. He gained all conference twice in track and once his only year running cross country. 

Personal: Son of Ron and Sandy Shanahan. Brother of Matt, Mike, and Kelli Shanahan. Undecided major, but he plans to focus on the health field. In addition to running, he also played varsity hockey and soccer. He enjoys all sports, biking, fishing, and spending time with family
