Aquinas College

Cecilia Sanchez joins Aquinas Dance after a highly involved multi-sport career at Sacred Heart Academy in Mount Pleasant. Sanchez has danced for 14 years, including nine years of competitive studio dance, and has earned numerous athletic and academic scholarships while recording multiple overall and top-10 finishes in dance competitions.

Her athletic background extends well beyond dance. Sanchez competed in varsity track & field for four years, varsity cheer for three years and varsity cross country for one season. A three-time regional qualifier in track, she also helped her 4x800-meter relay team place among the top three at MITCA. Sanchez started her high school's dance team in 2025 and served as a captain for both the dance and cheer teams.

Sanchez is excited to make memories, try new things and continue growing academically and athletically at Aquinas. She was drawn to AQ by its campus, academic and athletic opportunities and class sizes.

Away from athletics, Sanchez enjoys theater, crafts, puzzles and animals. She is a huge Disney fan and lists The Outsiders and Esperanza Rising among her favorite books.
