Biography
Freshman (2018)
• Ran a 28:01 (4.75 Miles) to finish in 109th place at the GRCC Raider Invitational (Sept. 22) • Made his Aquinas debut at the 8,000-meter Calvin Knight Invitational (Sept. 8), crossing in 256th at 30:45.
High School: Went to City High Middle School but trained as an Ottawa Hills Bengal under the tutelage of Coach Dan Ebright, serving as the MVP in two consecutive years. Started his cross country career in the fall of 2015 as a sophomore. Came back the following year to compete after a track season that saw personal records after personal records, narrowly missing all conference by two points. It was in his 2nd season after getting good mileage under his belt that he become all conference in not only cross country but track and field also. He finished off his final season as an Ottawa Hills Bengals with all conference honors in cross country. Off the track he served as a member of the Grand Rapids, Rotary International Club's, Interact group, where he learned about service in Grand Rapids, and the importance of taking care of his city.
Personal: Son of Jafari Muya and Amina Mdami, brother to Hamadi Jama, Rehema Jama, Musa Jama, and Hawa Jama. Dual Majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. Enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, and most of all basketball.
