Aquinas College

Sophomore Kaliya Wade returns to the Aquinas Cheer & STUNT program while pursuing a degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Wade brings elite-level experience and championship pedigree after earning All-State honors and helping her team qualify for the NAIA National Championships. Her background also includes competing in the shot put and discus, showcasing her versatility as an athlete.

Wade chose Aquinas because of the welcoming campus community and the people she met during her visit, which immediately made her feel at home. She is excited to take advantage of the university's many academic and extracurricular opportunities while continuing to grow as both a student and an athlete.

Kaliya enjoys reading and writing away from competition. A unique fun fact is that she was named after an ocean in Hawaii, a fitting origin for an athlete who brings both calm confidence and powerful energy to the mat.
