Sophia Farbarzhevich

Sophia Farbarzhevich joined the Aquinas swim and dive coaching staff as the dive coach in the summer of 2024. Farbarzhevich graduated from Hope College in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Neuroscience and Chemistry on the pre-med track. As a collegiate athlete, she secured MIAA Academic Honor Roll her freshman and sophomore year, CSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team her sophomore year, All-MIAA her junior year, and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District award her senior year. 

While at Hope, Farbarzhevich (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern HS) was involved in research, the pre-health professionals club, and the Students Teaching and Empowering Peers (STEP) organization. She was a member of the Sigma Iota Beta (SIB) sorority. In addition to this, she went on a Sports Evangelism to Equip Disciples (SEED) trip to Zambia to run a sports camp and pass out water filters. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Puebla, Mexico for a medical May term. 

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Farbarzheivch stepped onto the boards at age 13 and recently completed her competitive athletic career. She is eager to coach the Saint divers to new heights this upcoming season.

When she’s not on the pool deck, Farbarzheivch can be found volunteering at the Holland Free Health Clinic and working as a Nurse Technician. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends while being outdoors surfing, skiing, hiking, or reading a book.
