Mackenzie Yob

Mackenzie Yob joined Aquinas College as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Performance and Medicine in May of 2025, bringing with her a strong foundation in physical therapy, athletic performance, and holistic student-athlete care. A licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Mackenzie is committed to helping Saints athletes achieve peak performance while emphasizing injury prevention, recovery, and long-term wellness.

Originally from Michigan, Yob holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University’s College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Albion College, where she was honored with the Charlotte Duff Endowed Kinesiology Award and the Charlotte Duff Endowed Prize for Junior Woman in Exercise Science. She further advanced her clinical expertise through a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Mackenzie’s professional experience includes working with elite collegiate athletes as a physical therapist for the University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s basketball programs, as well as serving as adjunct faculty in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Pitt. Her background also includes roles with Keystone Oaks High School, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, the Mighty Strong Adaptive Sled Hockey Program, and EXOS, where she worked with both professional and collegiate athletes. She also completed a strength and conditioning internship at Boston University.

Now based in Grand Rapids, Mackenzie is excited to contribute to the mission and community of Aquinas Athletics. She was drawn to the college for its people-first culture and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of student-athletes. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, traveling, reading, and working out. She also cherishes time spent with her parents and two sisters.  Fun fact, Mackenzie has a twin sister (Maddie) who is an AQ alum, also her grandfather is also a former Saint.
