Matt McWilliams joined the Aquinas College Athletic Department in 2022 and serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for the department. Matt provides leadership and guidance for the rest of the athletic training staff at AQ. He also supervises the budget, develops and maintains a strong working relationship with local physicians, works with insurance, and provides athletic training coverage and support for all 30 athletic programs. Â
Matt graduated from Aquinas College in 1999, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in athletic training and ran both cross country and track and field. Matt went onto receive his Masters in Sports Administration from Northern Illinois University in 2001. Matt is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.Â
Prior to Aquinas, Matt worked for one year at Thornapple Kellogg High School as an athletic trainer before returning to his alma mater.Â
McWilliams resides on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids with his wife Vicky, his daughter Quinn and his son Teague.
