McKennah Hopkins

McKennah Hopkins joined the Aquinas College Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer after earning her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Michigan State University. A native of Capac, Michigan, Hopkins brings a diverse background of athletic training experience at both the collegiate and high school levels.

She completed her undergraduate degree at Saginaw Valley State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science before moving on to Michigan State, where she gained hands-on experience with Spartan Football, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s Basketball. Hopkins also broadened her skill set working with San Diego State University Baseball and Holt High School, giving her valuable insight into athlete care across multiple sports and competitive levels.

In recognition of her outstanding academic achievements, Hopkins received the Michael W. Straus Academic Excellence Award from Michigan State University.

Away from the training room, she enjoys golfing and playing basketball. Now a resident of Byron Center, Michigan, Hopkins appreciates the welcoming, family-like atmosphere of Aquinas College and is excited to be part of the Grand Rapids community. Her parents, sister, and brother-in-law still reside in Capac, Michigan.

Hopkins chose Aquinas because of the people and the culture, noting, “Grand Rapids is a great place to be, the staff felt like a family and were very welcoming.”
