The men's hockey team defeated Cleary for the second time in two nights, once again beating the Cougars by an 8-1 score. The weekend sweep for the Saints improves their record to 4-8 on the season.
Friday night's game saw eight different goal scorers for AQ, but tonight the firepower was more centralized. Three Saints,
Mike Curran,
Brandon Rozema and
Alex Klekotka, each scored a pair of goals on the night.
Mason Stewart and
Steven Nisbet also found the back of the net for the Saints on the night.
Rozema led the way offensively, adding three assists to his two goals for a five-point evening. Klekotka added a pair of helpers for a four-point night.
Ryan Wolfe was in a giving mood against the Cougars, dishing out three assists to pace the Saints.
Nick Stockert also had a pair of assists for the Saints, while
Thomas Davis,
Eric Budd,
Steven Gustafson,
Will Kortz,
Russell Shengulette and
Connor Barta all had assists of their own.
Each team had a power-play goal, with Rozema's second of the night coming on the man-advantage. The Saints had a shorthanded goal from the stick of
Mason Stewart. AQ outshot the Cougars 59-29 on the night, with goaltender
Nick Ottenbacher making 28 saves in net for the win.
