Men's Soccer Adds Assistant Coach James Decosemo

Head Coach Luke Ruff has announced an addition to his coaching staff, adding James Decosemo as an assistant coach. Coach Decosemo comes to Aquinas after an intercollegiate career at Northwood, with coaching experience in the Lansing area and at SVSU.

Coach Decosemo holds a USSF C License, and has served as the Director of Coaching for Nationals Capital Area since 2016. He was an assistant coach for the Saginaw Valley State University Women's Soccer team for two years, starting in 2017.

Decosemo is originally from Stokesley, England, and played for Newcastle United Youth Academy until the age of 16. He played his collegiate soccer at NCAA DII Northwood University, winning two GLIAC tournament championships and one regular season title.  He was named All-Conference and All-Region, and led the school to a Sweet Sixteen appearance. He led Lansing to an NPSL Midwest championship and the national semi-final against NY Red Bulls 2 in 2014. He joined Grand Rapids FC in 2019.

Coach Decosemo has joined the staff for pre-season training and will be on the sidelines with the team for the season opener against Indiana Wesleyan on August 24th.
