The Aquinas women's volleyball team took little time to defeat conference counterpart Concordia on Wednesday (Sept. 25) in Ann Arbor, Mich. It took a little over an hour for the Saints to dispatch of Concordia, topping the Cardinals in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-9, and 25-17.

AQ evens its WHAC record at 2-2; the Saints are 5-8 overall on the year. It was Aquinas' second 3-0 win of the season, having also swept Saint Mary (Neb.) on Aug. 31. Wednesday's three-set victory was a welcome sight for AQ, which had played the full five sets in each of its last three matches and six of the last seven contests overall.Â

Concordia falls to 4-7 on the season and 1-4 in league action.

The Saints were very strong offensively, hitting .242 with 33 kills and only 10 errors, while limiting CUAA to a -.078 attack mark on 19 kills and 28 errors. AQ also led in aces (7-3), blocks (7-1), and digs (59-48) on Wednesday night.

Jackie Rozell led the Aquinas offense with 13 kills and hit .333, while serving up four aces and adding four digs.
Payton Klein put down seven kills and just one error in 15 attempts for a .400 attack clip and delivered three solo blocks and three digs.
Kylie Christensen chipped in five kills and three total blocks (two solo).

Karly Morris led all players with 17 digs, while
Meredith Kraus tallied 13 digs, four kills, two assists, and an ace.
Kali Crawford dished 29 assists and picked up 11 digs for the double-double.
Maddie Ingraham supplied three kills and three digs.Â

AQ continues its three-match road trip this week with a pair of matches this weekend. On Friday (Sept. 27), the Saints travel to Southfield to face Lawrence Tech at 7:00 p.m. before facing Rochester on Saturday (Sept. 28) at 1:00 p.m. Aquinas will return home for three matches in the Sturrus Center next week.Â
