The men's lacrosse program has announced the signing of Plymouth, Michigan's Grant Caswell to a Letter of Intent. Caswell, who attends Plymouth High School, will head to AQ and join the Saints in Fall of 2020.
Caswell plays LSM and Defense for Plymouth High School, where he is a three-time All-Park honoree and a Scholar-Athlete Award winner. A three-year varsity starter so far, Caswell helped Plymouth to conference championships in 2018 and 2019, a Regional Final appearance in 2018 and a Regional title in 2019. The Wildcats made the state quarterfinals last spring.
Grant has played travel ball with PLG, Juiced Cherries and Coalition lacrosse. Caswell spent one season with Coalition and Juiced Cherries, and five seasons with the 2020 PLG Platinum team. With PLG, he helped win the 2017 NXT Box Lacrosse Championship, 2018 and 2019 Lax in the Zoo Box Lacrosse Championships, and multiple tournament championships in the summer of 2019 that saw his team post a 19-2 overall record. Individually, he was named PLG Niagara Invitational MVP.
"We are thrilled to have Grant join the program," said head coach
Doug Seites. "Grant is a student-athlete we have been recruiting for a long time because he brings so much to the table. He's a great student, leader and teammate, and a heck of a lacrosse player as well. His versatility is a huge asset, he can play defense, midfield, take faceoffs, play man-down and is a threat in transition. He's a very talented defender who covers a lot of ground and makes plays wherever needed. He's a great fit for our style of play and will be a big contributor early."
Said Caswell, 'I really found that the campus was the perfect size for me. As a chemistry major, I was impressed with the science building and the labs. I also look forward to being part of the Aquinas men's lacrosse team, and to future success with the team. He will study Chemistry at Aquinas College.
