Saints Fly Past Cardinals 11-0

The Aquinas College women's hockey team exploded for 11 goals tonight in a dominating win over Concordia University. The 11-0 win improved the Saints' record to 4-16 on the season, equaling last season's wins total. The 11 goals is a season-high for the Saints, and the most goals the team has scored in a single game since putting up 12 against UM-Flint in November of 2016.

The Saints came out firing, taking a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the game and never looking back. Ashley Reese lit the lamp to start the scoring barrage, with assists to Tori Feddema and Avery Martin. The junior forward from Coopersville, Martin, would then find the back of the net herself to make it 2-0. Natalie Vaitas and Amelia Bartels assisted on the play. Reese would add a pair of goals in the last minute of play in the first to give the Saints a 4-0 lead and herself a first-period hat-trick.

Aquinas would add three more goals in the second-period to take a 7-0 lead, with Gabby Fournier, Morgan Kozar and Tori Feddema lighting the lamp. The Saints would close things out with a four-goal period in the third to coast to an impressive 11-0 victory.

Reese led the way with four goals and an assist on the day, while Martin finished with two goals and three helpers. Natalie Vaitas also dished out four assists, while Tori Feddema added three, along with a goal. Madison Morgrette had a pair of goals on the night, while Morgan Kozar had a goal and an assist. Gabby Fournier also had one goal and one assist, while Mikayla Oppermann and Amelia Bartels added two assists. Maria Maguire had an assist on the night.
