Aquinas' baseball team fell to Columbia International by a score of 2-1 in Columbia, South Carolina as part of its Spring Break Trip. The Saints fell to 6-8 overall for the season.
 
The game was scoreless for the first six and a half innings before Columbia International scored runs in the seventh and eighth innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Saints would cut the deficit to 2-1 in the eighth inning through a 
Kelvin Aracena RBI single that scored 
Nick Brzezinski.
 
The Saints totaled 10 hits in the game with three players with multiple hits. Brzezinski went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and a walk while 
Sean Wing and 
Lorenzo Cupri had two hits in four at-bats. Wing also stole a base. Aracena had a hit in three at-bats and a run batted in. 
Grant Smitz, 
Nathan Hughes and 
Jacob Holt had the other hits for the team.
 
Hunter Morrison started for the Saints and pitched seven innings only giving up one earned run on seven hits and striking out 12. 
Richard Steffan gave up one earned run on no hits and had a strike out.
 
This game concludes AQ's Spring Break as this weekend's games on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15th in Huntington, West Virginia against UM-Dearborn have been cancelled due to travel issues.
