The men's lacrosse team has added another piece to the 2020 recruiting class, as Alex Rolands has signed his Letter of Intent to join the Saints in fall of 2020.
Rolands is from Troy, Michigan, where he attends Athens High School. He is a three-year varsity member of the Athens lacrosse program, helping the team win a Regional Championship his sophomore. Alex played travel lacrosse for Chiefs Elite for the past two seasons, as well as playing with M53 Lacrosse. An athletic and versatile player, Rolands played long-pole defense as a sophomore before moving to the midfield as a junior. He gives the Saints a strong two-way midfielder to add to the lineup for next season.
Said assistant coach
Peter Treppa, "The things that stood out to me about Alex were his size and athleticism. His ability play to midfield at both ends of the field impressed me and it will allow him to compete for playing time immediately. He really fits the style of midfielder we like at Aquinas. His hard work and commitment to the game combined with the coaching he received from Troy Athens, Chiefs Elite, and M53 Lacrosse prepared him to play at the next level." Added head coach
Doug Seites, 'We are thrilled to have Alex become part of the Aquinas lacrosse family. He has worked very hard to get where he is, and we are looking forward to Alex adding his dedication and skill to the program."
Said Rolands, "I chose Aquinas because of the great lacrosse offered and their education program." He will study Secondary Education at Aquinas College.
