Men's Lacrosse Adds Zeeland's Cam Gunn

The Aquinas College men's lacrosse team has added another signee in the 2020 recruiting class, getting a Letter of Intent from Zeeland defender Cam Gunn.

Gunn currently attends Zeeland West High School, and he spent his freshman and sophomore years at Holland High School. On the field, Gunn has earned numerous honors, including Second Team All-Area as a freshman, All-Area as a sophomore, All-Area as junior and All-Conference last season as well. As a junior, Gunn led his Zeeland team with 50 groundballs and earned All-Conference honors despite moving from his normal position of long-stick defense to play two-way midfield. Gunn has played his travel lacrosse the past five years with Westside Lacrosse and also has been a key member of the Westside Box Lacrosse team.

A versatile player, Gunn can play close-defense, long-stick midfield or as a two-way midfielder. "We are thrilled the Cam will be Saint next fall," said head coach Doug Seites. "Cam is a very talented defender that guard at every level of the defense. He has the ability to play anywhere he's asked, and excel at it too. On top of his skill as a defender, Cam is going to bring toughness and attitude to the team. He's worked very hard to get himself to this point and we know that work ethic will continue at AQ and make a positive impact on the program."

Asked why he picked Aquinas, Gunn said, "I will be the fourth generation on my moms side of the family to attend Aquinas, as well as the awesome campus and great lacrosse team. An added bonus is that it's the perfect distance away from home." He will study Communications at Aquinas College.
