Aquinas head baseball coach
Chris LaMange has announced another addition to the Saints' 2020 signing class, as David Zubor is the latest AQ baseball recruit. From Flat Rock, Michigan, Zubor played his high school ball at Riverview Gabriel Richard.
Zubor earned Second Team All-State honors and was part of a talented high school program. Riverview Gabriel Richard won the 2018 state championship, one year after winning the district and regional titles. The team also captured the 2019 district championship.
"David will be an excellent addition to the AQ baseball program - his athleticism and ability to play multiple positions will give David the ability to find his way into the lineup early in his career," LaMange noted. "We love the fact that he has played in the always tough Detroit Catholic League and hope this will be the start of us adding even more Catholic League athletes to our program. David had tremendous success in high school, was a state champion in baseball, and we expect him to continue to have success in an AQ uniform."
A four-year varsity letterwinner, Zubor has been playing baseball since he was seven years old. He also competed for the Michigan Storm, Jet Box Baseball Club, and the Kalamazoo Maroons. Zubor played basketball until his sophomore year of high school before switching his focus to baseball.
Planning to major in business administration, Zubor said of his decision to attend AQ: "I am most excited about making a difference at Aquinas in my time there and making relationships that will last a lifetime."
