The AQ women's volleyball squad matched up against (RV) Madonna this afternoon (Oct. 9) in its first of two WHAC matches this season. Aquinas made the first set close, falling just three points short of Madonna by a set scores of 25-22. Madonna pulled away in the next two sets, winning by set score of 25-12 and 25-16 for a 3-0 win against Aquinas. Aquinas' updated record now sits at 13-10 with a WHAC record of 5-4.

Madonna beat out Aquinas in all statistical categories, leading in kills (36-27), hitting percentage (.282-.071), assists (29-24), aces (8-2), digs (33-26), and total blocks (18-16).

Abbie Harpenau was the Saints team leader in kills with eight (.333). Harpenau also added a dig in the effort. Meredith Kraus was right behind Harpenau with seven kills of her own (.105). Kraus also contributed six digs and two block assists.

Adrien Yondo got nine more digs in her quest for 1,000, bringing her career total to 977.

The Saints have a heavy schedule this upcoming week with two home games on Wednesday (Oct. 13) against Grace Christian andConcordia. Aquinas will then be on the road on Friday (Oct. 15) at Indiana Tech and away at UNOH for a double header on Saturday (Oct. 16).
