The Aquinas women's lacrosse program is excited to announce the signing of Niya Couch. The 5'4" attacker will join the Saints for her academic and athletic career after completing her senior season at Grand Rapids Christian High School.
When asked about her most recent signee, head coach
Angelica Gero said "Niya is such a fun lacrosse player because she doesn't realize how talented she is yet. She is a great athlete and her willingness to step up for her team and go outside her comfort zone throughout her high school career has been really exciting to see. I cannot wait to watch her continue grow here with us throughout her college career!"
During her first three seasons at Grand Rapids Christian, Couch was named both All-State and All-Conference at her position. Aside from being on varsity lacrosse, she was on the varsity golf team for all four years of her high school career.
Upon arriving at Aquinas, Niya plans to study business and sports management. When asked why she chose Aquinas, Couch answered "I chose AQ because I loved the campus and the lacrosse program. I'm excited about meeting knew people and playing lacrosse at a high level."
