The Aquinas women's basketball team hosted Siena Heights in the battle of the Saints on Wednesday (Feb. 10) night in the Sturrus Center. A late fourth-quarter push advanced Siena Heights past AQ to take the game 65-55. Aquinas moves to 2-5, and 2-5 in conference play.

Both the Saints squads were evenly matched heading into the fourth quarter with Aquinas up by one point, 39-38. AQ only trailed 56-55 with 1:50 to play, but SHU closed the game on a 9-0 run to take the win. In the fourth quarter, the visitors shot 9-15 from the field to outscore the home Saints, 27-16. Siena Heights advances to 7-3, and 4-2 in WHAC play.

Siena Heights led AQ in total rebounds (40-29) with 15 of them being offensive and recorded 20 second-chance points, while Aquinas only totaled two second-chance points. The visiting Saints also had the advantage in steals (10-4). AQ edged out Siena Heights in assists (16-14) but totaled 17 turnovers as a team to 12 for Siena Heights.

Aquinas was led by
Marissa Brady, who was just shy of her seventh consecutive double-double recording 22 points and nine rebounds for AQ. Brady also recorded all of the blocks for Aquinas (five) and finished with a pair of assists.
Brighton Miller tallied 10 points and added three assists and three rebounds.Â

Daz'Sha Day recorded eight points for the Saints shooting 4-5 from the field and added a pair of rebounds.
Kailee Ford notched five points while
JaKarri Alven finished with three rebounds, four assists, and two points.
Jayda Smith recorded three points and three assists for Aquinas.

AQ is back in action Saturday, Feb. 13th as the Saints host the Gray Wolves of Lourdes in another WHAC matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the Sturrus Center.
