The Aquinas women's tennis team collected a 7-0 road sweep at Concordia on Saturday (Apr. 17) to close the regular season and pick up its third win in the last five matches. AQ swept the doubles matches and did not give up a single point, while earning wins in all six singles contests, as well.

The victory puts the Saints at 3-5 overall and 2-3 in conference action, while Concordia falls to 4-10 on the year and 1-3 in league play. Aquinas will find out their conference tournament opponent in the coming days.

AQ's doubles teams of
Joska Volder and
Sofia Gomez (#1 doubles),
Darci TerHaar and
Kiara Berry (#2 doubles), and
Vanessa Heylmun and
Sara Forletta (#3 doubles) all won their matches by identical 6-0 scores.

Volder made quick work at #1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-2, while Gomez earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory at #2 singles. TerHaar was victorious at #3 singles, 6-2 and 6-0.

Grace Kelly picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at #4 singles and Berry blanked her counterpart at #5 singles, 6-0 and 6-0. Heylmun did the same at #6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.

The opening round of the WHAC Tournament is scheduled for next weekend (Apr. 23-24) at the higher seed.Â
