Sylvania, OH - Within the final 30 seconds, the Aquinas women's basketball team got within two points of the Lourdes Gray Wolves, but thanks to a series of late free-throws Lourdes went on to secure the 68-64 victory in Sylvania, Ohio. The Gray Wolves rise to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play while AQ falls to 3-5 and 1-4 in conference play.  

The two squads went back in forth in the first couple of minutes and found themselves tied at 7-7 before Lourdes would go on a run. AQ was outscored in the quarter 25-12. The Gray Wolves shot 60% in the first quarter compared to AQ's 29%.
 
The roles would be reversed in this quarter as AQ outscored Lourdes 25-16. Paige Guernsey lead scorers in the quarter with 8 points. Emily Cline was responsible for two assists in the period. The two teams would head to the half with Lourdes leading 41-37.
 
Both teams entered the third quarter with an emphasis on defensive pressure. The two schools would only score eight points a piece in the quarter. Lourdes shot 25 percent with AQ shooting slightly better at 27%. The Saints would have 3 steals in the quarter.
 
Heading into the fourth still down by four, the Saints were looking to go on a run in the final quarter. Isabel Reemsnyder led the way for Saints in scoring not only in the game (23 points) but also in this quarter with nine points. She would lead the Saints as they would keep battling throughout the period but the clock ran out before the Saints could complete their comeback falling 68-64.
 
Emily Cline lead the Saints with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Brighton Miller tallied the Saints only block of the game while Alexis Thomas had three steals for AQ.
 
Aquinas women's basketball will be back in action this Saturday, December 3. They will host the UNOH Racers at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness at 1:00 PM.
