AQ Women's Hockey Sweeps Penn State with 4-1 Win Saturday Night

The Saints move back to the .500 mark with road victory

University Park, Pa. – Following up a 5-1 win Friday night (Nov. 4), the Aquinas women's hockey team completed a two-game road sweep of Penn State late Saturday night (Nov. 5) with a 4-1 victory of the Nittany Lions.

With the two weekend wins, the Saints move back to the .500 mark at 4-4 overall and improved to 3-1 on the road this season.

Lauryn Wood scored the opening goal Saturday just 15 seconds into the contest. Lauren Tulloch added another first-period tally with a little under five minutes left in the period. Getting credit for the assists on both goals was Darbi Poole.

Both teams scored in the second period. The Nittany Lions cut the deficit to 2-1 on a goal by Camryn Salaski, assisted by Katie Bahrs, before the Wood and Poole connection proved to be successful yet again with another goal.

After collected three assists, Poole scored AQ's final goal at the start of the period. Alyssa Exline provided the assist.

The Saints outshot Penn State 43-28 with AQ goalkeeper Ashley Suske making 27 saves to pick up the win.
