Tess Griffith Commits to AQ Women's Volleyball 2023 Class

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The AQ Saints women's volleyball team, along with head coach, Ryan Campbell, are very excited to be announcing Tess Griffith as the latest addition to the 2023 recruiting class. Griffith currently resides in Lyons, Michigan and is set to graduate from Ionia High School in the spring of 2023. She is currently undecided on her major but will begin her academic journey at Aquinas in the fall of 2023.

Griffith has had a great career with the Bulldogs, helping Ionia to a conference championship in 2021 and a district championship in 2022. Individually, she has been named to all-conference teams for the past three years. As a senior this past fall, she was named the team captain and MVP. Griffith has experienced a lot of success academically as well after being named academic all-state in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

In total, Griffith has been playing volleyball for nine years now. When she isn't playing volleyball for Ionia, she plays club volleyball at Attack Volleyball. She is also a track athlete for Ionia High School in the spring.

"Tess has a high swing and is able hit corners very well," said coach Campbell of the incoming freshman. "Over the past year, Griffith has significantly developed her game both in the front row and the back row."

When asked what made her decide to join the Aquinas volleyball family, this is what Griffith had to say: "I chose Aquinas due to the welcoming and team-oriented atmosphere on campus. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to play the game that I love."
