The women's lacrosse team played their first of six games at home this season and they played against West Michigan foe, Hope College. The women of AQ were unable to pull off the win in the home opener when they were outscored in three out of four quarters resulting in a final score of 17-11.

The Saints fall to 1-2 while Hope College is undefeated on the season thus far rising to 3-0

The Saints went down two goals in the first quarter then were able to score with :46 left in quarter. 

In the second period, both teams were able to score much more than the first period. The two teams kept trading goals during the period. When the time ran out at the half, the Flying Dutch were up 9-6. 

Jordan Gardner had five saves in the first half. Scoring goals in the first half was Kennadie Minerich with two then Cierra Davis, Emma Bailey, Trinity Reynoso, each had one.

The third period was all Hope as they scored four points while the Saints couldn't find the back of the net. 

In the fourth the Saints got back to scoring with five goals compared to Hope's four, but this was not enough to bring back the Saints. Scoring goals this period was Minerich to record a hat trick, Reynoso and Rings each adding one more goal and Davis scoring two man up goals to earn her a hat trick. 

Azariah Wells was able to record four saves with her time in net.

The Saints recorded 27 ground balls and 28 shots compared to Hope's 33 and 33. 

The Saints are back in action this Friday when they play against Kalamazoo College at home. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 PM
