The Aquinas women's lacrosse team headed up to Adrian, Michigan this evening for their second round matchup against the Siena Heights Saints. After sixty minutes of play AQ was eliminated from the conference tournament by a final score of 24-14.

Siena Heights lead from the opening whistle and never took their foot off the gas throughout the game. They struck with the two first goals of the game before Aquinas scored their first.
Kennadie Minerich was the was the first Saint to score when she found the back of the net at 4:44. Siena snuck in another goal before
Shaylin Rings scored at 2:45. In the final minute of the quarter, Siena found a way to score three more times.

To start the second quarter
Emma Bailey and
Brianna Trepins were the first people to score in the period. From here Siena went on a five goal streak before AQ was able to retaliate. This goal came from
Kennadie Minerich for her second of the game. Before the end of the half, the Saints from Siena scored two more times.

In the third quarter AQ was narrowly outscored 4-5 by Siena. In order AQ's goals came from
Emma Bailey,
Cierra Davis,
Naomi Plant, and
Shaylin Rings.

In the fourth AQ was able to match Siena's firepower with each team scoring five goals. Minerich had three goals in the final period with one being a man up to give her five total goals on the day. The other goals came from
Megan Moffat and
Cierra Davis to conclude the Saints scoring on the day.

Jordan Gardner and
Azariah Wells split time in the net tonight with each of them playing a half. Wells played in the first half and had a total of 14 goals against her and was able to record six saves. In the second Gardner had eight saves and 10 goals against her.

In individual stats, Rings and
Alexis Villarini lead AQ in ground balls with three each while Trepins had two caused turnovers. Minerich lead in goals and points with five in both categories.

AQ lead in saves (14-6) and a better clear percentage (87.5%-50%) while Siena had more shots (43-26) and ground balls (25-17)

The women's lacrosse team will now wait for the NAIA selection pool to see if they will advance to the national tournament.
