Women's Hockey Falls Against #4 Indiana Tech, 3-0

Fort Wayne, IN - The Aquinas women's hockey team was in action in a sporadic week day game this afternoon as they traveled to Fort Wayne for a conference matchup against the Indiana Tech Warriors. Despite being bested in the contest, the Saints held the #4 ranked Warriors to a 3-0 victory.

The two teams had a clean game in the first period with neither side seeing time in the penalty box. The Warriors did get the advantage over the Saints in the period though scoring one goal at 10:21 in the period.

In the second period neither team was able to find the back of the net. Aquinas saw 6 minutes in the penalty box compared to Tech's 2, but both teams were unable to capitalize off the penalties.

It would be a different story though in the third period though as the Warriors would score twice on power play goals. Those goals came at 16:54 and 3:35 in the third period. This would sink the Saints, giving the Warriors the definitive lead.

In goal for the Saints, Kadynce Romijn faced 52 shots and recorded 49 saves.

The Saints will next compete on Friday when they host #6 Maryville. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM at the Southside Ice Arena.
