Bourbonnais, IL - After two months of training through the holidays, the Aquinas women's swim and dive team returned to the water for a double dual meet against #6 Olivet Nazarene and D3 university Wheaton. The Saints turned many heads behind multiple impressive performances.
 
The women were unable to best their two opponents as they fell by a score of 209-62 to Olivet Nazarene and 188-79 to Wheaton.
 
Ella Althaver and freshman Lily Heath, who swam the 1650 Free for the first time in her collegiate career, swam their way to top-16 ranked times in the conference. Althaver finished third with a time of 20:25, while Heath finished fourth with a time of 20:31.
 
Sarah Colvin won the 1M board, besting all men and women's scores in the event.
 
Swimming in the 100 and 200 backstroke was Maureen Lynch. She finished a time of 1:04 and 2:20 in the two events. With these times, she is the second fastest Saint in history behind senior Mary Grace Doyle. She placed fourth in the 100 and seventh overall in the 200.
 
Doyle also came to play today as the Saints top scorer. She placed fifth in the 200 Free with a time of 2:02. Doyle has the 10 fastest times in the event in AQ history. Then in the 100 Butterfly, she placed fifth again and did so with 1:03.
 
This double-dual meet serves as a warm up for the KCAC Conference Championship on February 2 through the 4th. This is the Saints first season as a member of the KCAC and they will look to make a big splash in their first appearance.
