Four Saints Earn KCAC Women's Swim and Dive Honors

Edens named First Team All-Conference; Colvin, Boivin, and Hincher named Second Team All-KCAC

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced its All-Conference honors for the 2023-24 women's swim and dive season on Thursday evening (May 30). AQ's women's swim and dive team took home four all-conference honors. Amelia Edens was named First Team All-KCAC after her stellar rookie campaign. Sarah Colvin, Chloe Boivin, and Meghan Hincher were all named Second Team All-Conference after great showings at the conference meet in February.

Amelia Edens highlighted her incredible freshman season with another standout performance at the KCAC Conference Championships. Individually, Edens won second in the 200-yard backstroke and third in the 100-yard backstroke. She also finished fifth in the 100-butterfly to cap off her individual performances.

The Whiteland, Indiana native was a crucial piece of the relay teams as well. She helped the 800 freestyle team and the 400 freestyle team both finish fourth a set massive school records. Edens also raced in the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle, assisting with another two school records and fifth-place finishes.

Edens went on to become the first women's swimmer to compete at nationals and she did not disappoint. She placed 19th in the 100 backstroke, just missing the finals cut by 0.49 seconds.

Colvin competed on both the 1M and 3M boards, earning silver on the three-meter board and bronze on the one-meter variety. She went on to compete at nationals and earned herself All-American recognition with a fourth-place finish.

Boivin was another crucial piece of the Aquinas record-setting relay teams, joining Edens as the new school record holders in several relays. She also scored individual points, most notably with a seventh-place finish in the 100 freestyle and an eighth-place finish in the 200 freestyle. Her performance in the 100-yard freestyle put her name at the top of the record books for that event.

Hincher made her KCAC debut in the 200 IM with an 11th-place result. Her performances only seemed to improve from there as she notched a fifth-place result in the 400 IM, a fourth-place result as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team, and a ninth-place finish in the 200 butterfly. She helped set new Aquinas records in both the 800 freestyle relay and in the 400 IM.

The women's swim and dive team has their eyes turned on the 2024-25 season after many team firsts and records over the past year.
