The men's hockey team hosted their final home game of the 2022-2023 regular season this evening on a night where they honored their five graduating seniors. They did so against the Cleary Cougars and after a 5-2 victory against Cleary on Wednesday, the Saints would look to notch another victory. Unfortunately, the Cougars played spoiler as they topped the Saints 4-1 in the contest. AQ drops to 14-19 overall this season and 9-14 in conference play.

Prior to tonight's contest, AQ honored
Mason Stewart,
Darren Johnson,
Danny Barry,
Tyler Szturm, and
Arthur Prukhitsky. In their time at AQ, the five were apart of two WHAC Championship appearances and a national's appearance, while amassing a 65-47 record in the last four years.

Cleary drew first blood in tonight's contest with a score at 4:28 left in the first period of play. They would take this lead heading into the second period of play. AQ struck first in this period with a goal from
Gavin Phillips at 10:17. He was assisted on the play by #16
Shane DiTullio. The tie would not last long though as the Cougars scored 17 seconds later to go up 2-1. The two teams headed to the locker room with Cleary leading.Â

In the final period of play, AQ couldn't gain momentum while Cleary found the back of the net two more times. As the clock expired, the Cougars walked away with the 4-1 victory.

Tyler Szturm faced 33 total shots and was able to save 29 of them.

AQ will conclude the regular season tomorrow night when they head to Howell, Michigan for a rematch against Cleary. Puck drop is slated for 8:00 PM
