#5 Indiana Tech Defeats Men's Lacrosse 12-6 on Senior Day

Grand Rapids, Michigan - Early this afternoon, the men's lacrosse team hosted their final home game of the regular season where they honored eight graduating seniors before squaring off against the fifth ranked Indiana Tech. The Warriors eight goals in the first half set them up for success, as they walked away with the 12-6 victory.
 
AQ sits at .500 this season in both conference and overall records as they have a 4-4 conference record and 7-7 overall record.
 
Brady Waling was the first member of either team to score in the game with a goal coming quickly at 13:55. The Warriors wouldn't take kindly to this as they locked down both offensively and defensively for the rest of the half. They scored five times in the first quarter on fifteen shots and three times on 19 shots in the second period. They would hold the Saints to five shots in each quarter and causing 16 turnovers for AQ. They took a 8-1 lead heading into the second half.
 
AQ would enter the third quarter with a new fire, scoring three times to Tech's zero. The first goal came at 8:33 by way of Zachary Sweet. Jon Jardis would assist on the goal to tie the all-time assist record at AQ. Jardis would then score thirty seconds later an assist from Mitch Haggart. Then at 3:47 the Saints cut the Warrior lead to four with another Sweet goal. Dean Cooper was credited with the assist as the fourth began with Indiana Tech leading 8-4.
 
In the final quarter, Indiana Tech scored four goals to the Saints two icing the contest. Hunter Roberts had the first on a man up opportunity at 11:34 on an assist from Mitch Haggart. Nico Kittredge had the second at 6:44 for the sixth and final AQ goal. His goal came by an assist from Alex Rollands.
 
Senior Clayton Boerigter played all 60 minutes in net and faced 32 shots, saving 20 of them. Zachary Sweet had two goals, while Mitch Haggart had two assists. Kevin LaHaie and Lou Nageotte each recorded four ground balls, while Jack Rioux caused two turnovers.
 
AQ looks forwards to the post season with their first game coming on Tuesday, April 25. It is to be determined whether the Saints will host an opening round matchup or travel to one of their WHAC competitors.
