AQ Men's Volleyball Lands Aussie Outside Hitter Milos Buncic

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Aquinas men's volleyball team, along with head coach Michael Crane, are excited to announce the signing of outside hitter Milos Buncic to their program.

The Australian from Brisbane, Queensland, comes to Aquinas after attending Queensland University of Technology. Buncic plans to major in biology at AQ.

"We are very excited that Milos has decided to come play at Aquinas," Crane said. "We were hoping to have him here last Spring, unfortunately the timing with his Visa just didn't work out, but now that we have it all squared away he will be able to help our program replace a couple of very talented outsides that graduated this past year. Milos has good size, a good vertical, great ball control and a great deal of international experience which should help him make the transition to collegiate volleyball very quickly."

Buncic was a vital contributor when his team won the 2022 UniSport National Championship (Team QUT) and the 2022 Queensland State Championship (Brisbane Slavic Volleyball). He was named the 2022 QUT UniSport MVP, as well as the 2022 QUT MAVs award winner and the 2021 MVP for his club team in 2021.

Buncic was also chosen to represent the Queensland U23 team in 2022 and 2021.

When asked why Buncic decided to commit to Aquinas, he said: "Coach Michael's professionalism stood out to me during the recruiting process and he essentially stole my heart for the AQ Saints. I'm excited to develop with a new team and take the Saints to the National Tournament."
