Box Score Byron Center, Mich. — The Aquinas men's hockey team hosted #18 Indiana Tech this afternoon at Southside Ice Arena after the contest was originally snowed out this weekend. When the final horn sounded at the end of regulation Aquinas was bested by the Warriors by a final score of 5-2.
Aquinas falls to an even 13-13, with a 10-6-0 record in conference play. On the other hand, ITU improves to 14-10, with an 11-3 conference record.

Indiana Tech made sure to let AQ know they came to compete as it scored the first goal just three minutes into the game. Aquinas didn't let the lead stand for long as captain,
Brandon Rozema took advantage of a power play and tied the game at one apiece with 12:09 remaining in the opening period.
Xavier Erickson and
Nicola Vogel provided the helpers on Rozema's team-leading 15th goal of the season.
Utilizing the momentum from its first score, Aquinas capitalized on another power play opportunity when Erickson glided the puck across the ice to Vogel and Vogel then found the back of the net at the 8:52 mark.
Austin Gilmore was credited with the second assist on the goal for his 10th of the season. Aquinas ends the period up 2-1.
The second period was a battle, with neither team gaining an advantage until Indiana Tech scored with 9:03 remaining, evening up the score at 2-2. The rest of the period proved to be a standstill with the Aquinas defense holding the score at 2-2 as both teams headed into the third and final period.
Despite a valiant effort from the Saints, it was all Indiana Tech in the third. The Warriors had scored three unanswered goals in a chippy third period that had a combined seven penalties between both squads. Aquinas falls by a final score of 5-2.

Erickson was also feeling generous this afternoon as he assisted on both of the Aquinas goals.
