The Saints Fall to Eastern in Home Opener

Buckett recorded 46 saves to keep the score to 7-2 EMU

Box Score Ann Arbor, Mich. – The Aquinas Saints faced off against the Eastern Michigan Eagles for the second time tonight (Oct. 12) in their home opener. Eastern's Sam Sitterly, wearing No. 24, dominated the ice with a hat trick, leading her team to victory. For the Saints, Kaeleigh Kachmarski netted both goals for the Saints.
 
Final Score: Eastern Michigan 7, Aquinas 2
 

Eastern head the Saints at bay until the third period. Until then, the Eagles put up three shots in the first, one of those being a power play, and two goals in the second.
 
The Eagles started the third period with a goal. The Saints followed this up with a quick play lead by Kaeleigh Kachmarski and assited by Reyna Dominczak. With just under 3 minutes left of play the Kachmarski struck another one true. This time the play was on a fast break started by Alyssa Exline, earning her an assist.
 
Eastern followed that final goal with one of their own. This left the Eagles up 7-2 at the end of the game.
